Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Ahead of this year's Lebaran homecoming and return flow, President Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Edi Sukmoro conducted a track inspection in several operational areas. This was done to provide security and comfort for the public, train passengers, during their Lebaran homecoming and return flow.

From the inspection results, PT KAI has anticipated various potential vulnerabilities caused by technical, non-technical and natural factors. Natural factors include floods, landslides and collapse of rails, non-technical factors such as train throwing, and other things are also of special concern to PT KAI.
The inspection of the north and south lines this time involved the Board of Directors, Commissioners and Director General of PT KAI. This inspection was to ensure whether the Daops (operation areas) and large stations were ready to carry out the Lebaran Operation. "The operation will be implemented on D-10 and D+10 Lebaran or from June 5 to 26," he explained, Wednesday (11/04) evening at Kotabaru Station Malang after conducting an inspection of several railway lines
"From the inspection results, on the southern route such as in Daops 5 there are seven vulnerable points. PT KAI has taken anticipatory measures by guarding several vulnerable areas. Extra track officers will also be deployed, including at level crossings which are very dangerous when train travel increases during the Lebaran moment," explained Edi.
In Daops 6, namely the Jogja-Solo route, he continued, there is almost no natural vulnerability, but there is a vulnerability to throwing. In Daops 7, he said there are two vulnerable points. "For Daops 8, there is almost no vulnerability to natural factors, but guarding against throwing is still carried out, by means of regional socialization and guarding," he added.
"With this inspection from PT KAI, it is hoped that Daops and stations are ready to hold Lebaran Operations and always anticipate various possibilities, so that in the end it provides security and comfort for train passengers during the Lebaran homecoming and return flow," concluded Edi. (say/yon)
