Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – To increase voter participation in the implementation of the 2019 Simultaneous Election, various efforts were made by the Malang City General Election Commission (KPU), such as holding an arts and culture performance which was held on Saturday (21/04) in front of the KPU Office. Jl. Bantaran No.6 Malang City.
Traditional art and culture performances are one of the effective ways to increase public participation in every democratic party. While residents watch the entertainment, the Malang City KPU socializes the various stages of the Election, so this method is considered quite effective.
"At this moment, the KPU socializes the political parties participating in the 2019 Election, mascots and Election jingles. Through this cultural art, it automatically also helps preserve and maintain ancestral heritage," said Malang City KPU Commissioner, Ashari Husein when met on the sidelines of the cultural art performance.
In addition to events like this, in the future the Malang City KPU will also hold socialization with various event packages targeting all groups, such as various communities, residents in each sub-district to the RT level, students, and school circles.
Through these efforts, the KPU is targeting to achieve a participation rate of up to 80 percent and even more, because the instructions from the Central KPU are at least 75 percent. The Malang City KPU also appealed to all elements of society to create a safe and conducive atmosphere, before and after the democratic party.
"With these various efforts and socialization, it is hoped that the level of public participation will be in accordance with the target and all stages of the Election will run well. Thus, it will also realize a strong country and sovereign people," concluded Ashari. (say/yon)
