Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – In the framework of Disaster Preparedness Day 2018, the Malang City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) held a Disaster Preparedness Roll Call followed by a disaster response simulation in front of Malang City Hall, Thursday (26/4).

On this occasion, the Commander of the 0833 Malang City Military District Command, Lieutenant Colonel Nurul Yakin, MA acted as the leader of the roll call.
Lieutenant Colonel Inf Nurul Yaqin read the speech of the Acting Mayor of Malang Drs. Ir. Wahid Wahyudi, MT said that Malang City is one of the disaster-prone areas when viewed from its geographical perspective.
Malang City is located on a plateau with the Brantas River flowing. This location is considered to have the potential to be a source of natural disasters such as landslides and floods.
"Through this activity, it is hoped that it can increase awareness and vigilance in facing various disaster threats in the surrounding environment," said Lieutenant Colonel Inf Nurul Yaqin.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Malang City BPBD, Drs. J. Hartono, said that this disaster response simulation was to improve the team's capabilities. SAR (Search and Rescue) Malang City so that if at any time a disaster occurs, the disaster preparedness team is ready to anticipate and respond.
"This activity is a form of activity to welcome HKB as well as to see our team's readiness to face disasters," said Hartono, Thursday (26/4).
In Malang City, disasters often occur, such as landslides, floods, earthquakes and landslides. Until April 2018, Hartono said there were 70 disasters in Malang City. Seeing this reality, various anticipations must continue to be carried out in order to minimize losses and victims. (cah/yon)
