Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Commemorating World Press Freedom Day (World Press Freedom Day) which is commemorated every May 3, Pejournalist Foto Indonesia (PFI) Malang held a photo exhibition with the theme 'The Best of Me' at Merdeka Square, Malang City, Thursday (3/5).

Other journalist organizations in Malang City, such as the Independent Journalists Association (AJI), Indonesian Television Journalists Association (IJTI), and the Indonesian Journalists Association also took part in enlivening it.
World Press Freedom Day (WPFD) began in 1993 when the United Nations General Assembly designated May 3 as World Press Freedom Day.
This photo exhibition is also intended as a socialization medium so that people are wise in using social media as a real step to combat the spread of hoax news or information whose truth cannot be accounted for.
Chairman of PFI Malang, Hayu Yudha Prabowo said that this exhibition is a form of appreciation for the photo works of PFI Malang members. In addition to inviting and educating the public to get closer to recognizing the joys and sorrows of being a photojournalist.
"We hope that this activity can educate the public and invite the public to love the world of journalism more," said Gogon, Hayu Yudha Prabowo's nickname, Thursday (3/5).
Gogon added, with the guarantee of press freedom, journalists will work more optimally. Journalists can present balanced news, can be more productive, and journalists must also be able to prevent the spread of hoax news.
Every journalist must also adhere to the journalistic code of ethics and Law Number 40 of 1999 concerning the Press.
"We want to remind journalists to maintain professionalism and independence through this activity," said Gogon.
This exhibition, Gogon said, was attended by 22 members of PFI Malang, displaying one of their best works. (cah/yon)
