Joint Alert and Declaration to Fight Radicalism and Terrorism

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Various elements of youth organizations, religious figures (toga), community leaders (tomas), Islamic boarding school students, government, TNI-Polri, held a standby roll call and declaration at Malang City Hall, Sunday (20/5) to jointly prevent and fight against acts of terrorism and radicalism.

Various youth organizations such as GP Ansor, Pemuda Muhammadiyah, KNPI, GMNI, TNI-Polri, Toga-Tomas agreed to prevent, reject and combat acts of terrorism and radicalism that have been rampant lately. They regretted the tragedies that occurred some time ago in several places such as in Surabaya, Sidoarjo and Mako Brimob Depok.

The alert roll call and joint declaration received appreciation from various parties as well as the Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahid Wahyudi, MT. He said that the movement driven by GP Ansor Malang City must be responded to by various groups and realized well.

"This movement is to eradicate radicalism and terrorism, especially those that are currently or will threaten Malang City in particular," he explained.

Concern and expressions of condolences for the victims of this inhumane act were also expressed in the declaration text.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of GP Ansor Malang City M. Nur Junaidi Amin said that youth as the successors of the nation must be aware and become the driving force in various aspects of life, especially in countering and fighting radicalism. "In this context, youth have a big role in maintaining the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia and diversity throughout time," he added.

At the alert assembly and joint declaration held to commemorate National Awakening Day, various elements also signed as a form of commitment and resistance so that it is hoped that it will unite them to work together in fighting various acts of terrorism and radicalism. (say/yon)
