Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Good human resource development (HRD) is the key for a nation to be able to win the competition with other nations in the world. So important is the improvement of HRD, the commemoration of National Awakening Day this year carries the theme of Human Resource Development Strengthening the Foundation of Indonesia's National Awakening in the Digital Era.
Regarding this matter, the Malang City Government held a Harkitnas commemoration ceremony in the front yard of Malang City Hall, Monday (21/5). Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahid Wahyudi, MT acted as the ceremony inspector and read the speech of the Minister of Communication and Informatics Rudiantara.
This ceremony was attended by the Malang City Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), Malang City DPRD, Malang City Regional Secretary, and all Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) within the Malang City Government.
The important message contained in the speech of the Indonesian Minister of Communication and Information read by Acting Mayor Wahid Wahyudi includes that in this digital era the government will increase the development of human resources (HR) by accelerating infrastructure development and improving the quality of education and training, which is also one of the visions of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla.
"In commemoration of National Awakening Day on May 20, 2018, Indonesian people must have awareness in developing themselves and seizing every job opportunity that exists," he continued.
Digital technology opens up a window of opportunity and threat alike. Digital technology will be a threat if we are only passive users, but it will be a blessing if we are able to conquer it.
An example of good use of digital technology is by using digital technology as a service that can simplify and be very effective in all payment processes.
"In the past, we could with limited access to knowledge and information, with limited technology to communicate, gather and unite our minds to fight for the sovereignty of the nation. We should be able to now, carry the same load together," said Wahid. (cah/yon)
