Serving New Money Exchange, BI Malang Deploys 14 Banking Cars

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang Bank Indonesia (BI) Representative Office deployed 14 banking cars, Monday (28/05) to serve the money exchange needs of the community ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1439 H. Every day, the 14 banking cars will be placed at strategic points and serve money exchanges.

Head of the BI Malang Representative Office, Dudi Herawadi, released hot air balloons as a sign of the launch of 14 banking cars.

Head of BI Malang Representative Office, Dudi Herawadi, said that the 14 banking cars will be spread across seven regencies/cities within BI Malang's working area. "In addition to being escorted by fully armed police personnel, each banking car will prepare new printed money in various denominations totaling Rp 740 million," he explained.

Each car, Dudi continued, will be placed at strategic points, such as markets and stadiums that will operate from morning to evening. This banking car will operate for seven days and will be operated from May 28, 2018 to June 8, 2018.

For residents who want to exchange money, Dudi explained, there are no special requirements, but later they will use dip ink, like the Pilkada. "So each person is only allowed to exchange money once a day, although the nominal amount is not limited," he said.

"This banking car will also...support cheap market or Ramadan Market that will be held by the local government, so it is hoped that the existence of this mobile banking can meet the needs of the community for new denominations of money and reduce the circulation of counterfeit money," concluded Dudi.
