INASGOC Secretary General: 2018 Asian Games the Biggest

Jakarta (malangkota.go.id) – The 2018 Asian Games will have around 16.000 athletes, officials, and ten thousand journalists involved in the sporting event held every four years. No less than five billion pairs of eyes in the world will watch the prestigious sporting event.

This was conveyed by the Secretary General (Sekjen) of the 2018 Indonesian Asian Games Organizing Committee (INASGOC) Eris Herryanto, Monday (9/7) when opening the Technical Guidance for Official Photographers and Photo Venue Managers of the 2018 Asian Games at the LKBN Antara Office, Jakarta.

Eris added that this event is the biggest because it has 20 percent more participants than before and is no less lively than the Olympics. "There are 93 venues spread across four cluster, namely at Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta Dua, Jakarta Tiga, and Palembang," he explained.

Furthermore, Eris said that there are 40 sports consisting of 67 match disciplines and 465 medals to be competed for. Until now, Eris said that 45 countries have registered.

"Regarding this, Indonesia is worthy and capable of holding the Olympics. We should also be proud of Indonesia being appointed as the host of the Asian Games this time," concluded Eris. (say/yon)
