Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – A thousand Scout members from Malang Raya transformed Muharto Village, which was previously known as a slum and densely populated, into a new thematic village tourism destination.
Labeled Kampung Kelir, these Scouts painted and provided many creations in the village in RW 6.
Kampung Kelir will later add to the collection of thematic villages and new tourist destinations in Malang City. The initiative and creativity of a thousand Pramuka Penegak members in Malang City, Malang Regency and Batu City deserve positive appreciation.
From RT 1 to RT 3, there are at least 130 houses painted in various colors, making this village look attractive. Various colors of paint and various paintings are embedded in every wall of the street, narrow alleys, and every corner of the residents' houses.
The Scout Colorful Village Entrepreneurship Festival (FWKKP) driven by the East Java Scout Movement, Zone 3, Malang Raya, was completed in three days. What the young people did also received support from local residents.
The coordinator of this activity, Beny Setya Putra, when met in Kampong Kelir, Thursday (12/07) said, by being labeled Kampung Kelir, this village will look clean and become a new tourist destination based on a thematic village.
"On the other hand, by making this village a tourist destination, it will also boost the economy of the residents. Not only food businesses, later various souvenirs sold by residents will be widely purchased by tourists who come to this place, so that the economy of the surrounding community is also lifted and also reduces unemployment," added Beny.
The same thing was also conveyed by the Head of RW 6, Muhammad Tamin, who hopes that all community potentials can be lifted. According to this middle-aged man, he and other residents are ready to fully support this program, because the impact is very positive.
The Scout members also socialized a clean and healthy lifestyle involving the Health Service and BPOM so that the community can implement the program. "With the existence of Kampung Kelir, it is also hoped that it will become an alternative tourist destination and increase tourist visits to K

Malang city," said Tamin. (say/yon)
