Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – The Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud) of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Muhadjir Effendy, MAP inaugurated the Mpu Purwa Museum located on Jl. Soekarno Hatta, Griya Santa Housing Complex, Block B, No. 210, Malang City, Saturday (14/7).
The Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture expressed his appreciation for the existence of the museum, which is located close to the Malang City Culture and Tourism Office.
Minister Muhadjir advised that this museum be well maintained so that the various historical objects there are well maintained and can be used as a place of learning for those who need it.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Malang City Culture and Tourism Office, Ida Ayu Made Wahyuni, SH, M.Si, said that so far many people have thought that the oldest kingdom in this country was the Majapahit Kingdom.
However, based on history and various historical artifacts, it was stated that the Kanjuruhan Kingdom in Malang was the actual oldest kingdom.
The Kanjuruhan Kingdom, he continued, was founded in the 8th century AD and to find out the truth about this, it can be seen and studied at the Mpu Purwa Museum.
Various inscriptions, artifacts, statues and other historical objects, continued Ida, are in this museum, so this place is very worthy and appropriate to be a reference for learning.
"Students, students and historians will certainly find a lot of evidence related to the existence of this oldest kingdom, namely the Kanjuruhan Kingdom," he added.
Various art and cultural events will also be held routinely in the Mpu Purwa Museum area so that it is expected to support the learning facilities and vehicles in this place and the history of this nation in the past is well maintained. (say/yon)
