Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – Until now, there are still around 25 percent of village officials who are protected and become BPJS Employment participants. Given the importance of this social security, BPJS Employment will also synergize with various institutions and target that in 2019 all village officials will receive social security.

This is also related to the existence of Permendagri Number 18 of 2018 concerning Village Community Institutions and Village Customary Institutions which allows the Village Budget to be used for the social security budget of village officials. BPJS Employment will make it easier for village officials to become participants and receive social security.
These are some of the things conveyed by the President Director of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, Agus Susanto on the sidelines of the Village Government Apparatus and Village Community Institution Capacity Building Discussion event at the Ken Arok GOR, Malang City, Wednesday (01/08).
Until now, he continued, of the 185.826 village officials in 18.870 villages, only 25 percent are BPJS Employment participants.
BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, Agus explained, will encourage every village apparatus to later follow all programs, namely health insurance, work accidents, pension funds and death benefits. "But at least a minimum of two programs, namely health insurance and work accidents," he added.
To target these village officials, Agus continued, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan will optimize each branch office and send its officers to the villages.
On the other hand, the social security program for village officials is strengthened by the existence of Permendagri Number 18 of 2018 concerning Village Community Institutions and Village Customary Institutions. "The regulation states that the Village Budget is allowed to be used to pay for social security costs for village officials," he explained.
"If the village apparatus is protected, it is expected to improve their performance, because they are calmer and have great hopes, namely with the existence of old age security or pension funds," concluded Agus. (say/yon)
