Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – The 2018 August People's Market held on Jl Ki Ageng Gribig RW 08, Madyopuro Village, Kedungkandang District, Friday (3/8) was officially opened by the Acting Mayor of Malang.

The 2018 August People's Market is the second implementation after a similar activity was held the previous year. Acting Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji on this occasion was accompanied by the Deputy Chief of Kedungkandang Police, Danramil Kedungkandang, Secretary of Kedungkandang Sub-district, and Director of Arema Media Group.
In his speech, Sutiaji appreciated the implementation of the RW-level people's market in order to welcome the 73rd Anniversary of Indonesian Independence. "The RW level can hold an event of this magnitude by gathering 115 UMKM (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises), so it is only right that we give great appreciation and support," said Sutiaji.
"This people's market is also intended for the people, especially the people in the Madyopuro Village area. For that, I hope that the presence of this people's market can provide positive benefits for the surrounding community," he hoped.
"In the future, I also hope that the people's market will not only be held in August, but will continue to be held consistently in other months. The goal is for existing MSMEs to continue to grow," he added.
One of the messages that was also emphasized by the Acting Mayor of Malang was his desire for the Head of RW 08 to continue to maintain the existing conduciveness during the implementation of the people's market for the next 10 days.
"I am sure that with the development of MSMEs and the maintenance of existing conduciveness, it shows that the economy at the lower level will also be strong, so God willing, the Indonesian economy as a whole will also maintain its strength," said Sutiaji.
Meanwhile, Sutardi, chairman of the organizing committee and chairman of RW 08 expressed his gratitude to the local government which continues to support the implementation of this activity from year to year.
"There are 115 tents with a variety of contents, ranging from culinary, fashion to furniture. The hope is that all the needs of the community can be met in this people's market," Sutardi hoped. (say)
