Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Traditional markets have a very extraordinary role in maintaining the pulse of the economy in Malang City. This was discussed in an interactive dialogue at the Oro-Oro Dowo Market in Malang City initiated by LPP RRI Malang in collaboration with the Malang City Government, Thursday (9/8).

On this occasion, the public was also introduced to how the Malang City Government is advancing traditional markets, including through the implementation of e-Retribution. With the presence of e-Retribution, traders who sell in traditional markets are facilitated in making retribution payments without fear of paying more.
Acting Mayor of Malang Drs. Sutiaji revealed that traditional markets are the basis of the community's economy which also strengthens the nation's economy. The turnover of money in traditional markets is very high, therefore, guidance for traditional markets must continue to be improved.
"Traditional markets also have many noble values that are different from modern markets. Those good values must continue to be preserved," said Sutiaji, Thursday (9/8).
Sutiaji also did not forget to advise all State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in the Malang City Government to shop at traditional markets. According to him, in traditional markets there are many transactions and barters carried out between sellers and buyers so that each benefits.
As time goes by, traditional markets must also continue to improve in order to compete with modern markets. Namely by continuing to improve cleanliness, friendly service and maintaining the quality of goods sold well, traditional markets will continue to exist.

"Currently, there are four traditional markets in Malang City that implement e-Retribution. We hope that in the future all traditional markets in Malang City can implement e-Retribution," Wahyu hoped. (cah/yon)
