The achievement was recorded on Thursday (30/08) night at the Bung Karno Senayan sports field, Jakarta. In the quite tough final match, Lalu Muhammad Zohri, who is one of Indonesia's leading runners, along with three other leading Indonesian runners, managed to finish in second place.
The formation of this running team is interesting, because it must go through analysis from the coaching team. Such as trials, runner changes, runner positions that are always changed, and so on.
The Executive Board of the All Indonesia Athletics Association (PB PASI) , Tigor Tanjung after the press conference revealed that the initial composition of the relay team was not like the current one. "However, after being evaluated a few days ago, the team finally decided on the last runner Bayu Kertanegara," he said.
In this context, it is not that Yaswi Boby is incapable, but the decision was the result of a comprehensive evaluation by the coaching team and for the common good. "There are many considerations and decisions that must be issued as soon as possible by the coach, so that's what happened," added Tigor.
The characteristic of the 4 x 100 meter run, he continued, is that not all runners run 100 meters, where some runners run more than 100 meters and some less. Like Fadlin as the first runner, his speed is needed to get out of the starting block. "In addition, he must also be able to turn with a fairly sharp bend, even though he runs less than 100 meters," explained Tigor.
Strategy and or deciding which runner should be which, he explained, is very important, besides how to pass the baton between runners is also the key to the success of the relay team. "From the way of passing the baton, if done well, then a team can steal time or be faster than the opposing team by a fraction of a second.
