Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – The Library and Information Science Study Program, Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Brawijaya University (UB) Malang, in collaboration with the Indonesian Higher Education Library Forum, held a National Seminar and Workshop (Semiloka) on Indonesian Librarianship at the FIA UB Building, Wednesday (5/9).

The event lasted for three days, starting from Wednesday (5/9) to Friday (7/9) with the theme 'Information Governance: Institutional Connectivity, Public Information Transparency and Knowledge Dissemination'. Even more interesting, this workshop brought in several experts including Johan Budi Sapto Pribowo (Presidential Special Staff for Communication), Prof. Bambang Supriono (Dean of FIA UB), Marrick Wellen (Director of KITLU), Lilian Gussi (USA), and many more.
As a new study program at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Bambang Supriono said that the Library and Information Science Study Program has been accredited A and has been able to demonstrate its role.
"We hope that with this activity, UB can further contribute to advancing the world of libraries in Indonesia," said Bambang, Wednesday (5/9).
The advancement of libraries and information, Bambang said, will be the capital for this nation to be able to compete in the international world. Because with the current development of information that is already so tight, in order to compete with other nations, this nation must continue to innovate in developing the world of information.
Meanwhile, the Rector of UB Malang, Prof. Dr. Ir. Nuhfil Hanani AR, MS welcomed the workshop held this time. According to him, this activity is in line with the concept of developing UB which currently has a great library.
"In addition to research and professors, a campus is declared great if it has a library. UB currently has a great library," explained Nuhfil.
If in the past the contents of the library were identical to a collection of books, he said that now it has changed a lot along with the development of technology. (cah/yon)
