Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Regional Civil Service Agency (BKD) held Technical Guidance on Handling Cases of Criminal Acts of Position Crimes and Disciplinary Violations of Civil Servants within the Malang City Government at the Atria Hotel Malang, Monday (10/9).
Acting Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji was present and directly opened this activity. In his speech, Sutiaji emphasized that this technical guidance is a very constructive activity in an effort to build state apparatus to be more efficient and successful in carrying out government duties including optimizing public services.
"The information era encourages changes in performance improvements including ASN. As an element of the government apparatus, ASN is required to work more professionally," said Sutiaji.
Not only professional, but according to the Acting Mayor of Malang, ASN must also base their morals and ethics in supporting bureaucratic reform, including submitting and obeying laws and regulations. "ASN must be able to be an example in community life," he said.
Sutiaji regrets that there are still some ASN officers who commit crimes, both general and special crimes, because this is very degrading, especially in the midst of public scrutiny.
"Sometimes deviant acts use their position and the facilities and infrastructure attached to a person, therefore there needs to be a technical guidance event like this," he said.
Referring to Law No. 5 of 2014 concerning State Civil Apparatus and PP No. 53 of 2010 concerning Civil Servant Discipline, ASN must understand the obligations and prohibitions as well as the types of punishments if the prohibitions are violated.
"This regulation is expected to be a guideline in giving sanctions or as a legal basis for ASN," he concluded. (say/yon)
