Two Aid Trucks for Palu and Donggala Earthquake Victims Dispatched

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The ASN morning assembly in the Malang City Government environment, Thursday (11/10) led by the Deputy Mayor of Malang Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko also became the moment of the departure of aid for the victims of the Palu and Donggala earthquakes in Central Sulawesi.

Sofyan Edi Jarwoko (left) to then be sent to be distributed to the victims of the Palu and Donggala earthquakes.

In his speech, the Deputy Mayor of Malang conveyed the importance of sharing. "We must be grateful because we are still given safety, and we can still share with our brothers and sisters affected by the disaster, namely in Palu, Sigi, and Donggala, Central Sulawesi," he said.

He also prayed that those affected by the disaster would always be given fortitude and strength, and with this assistance, he hopes it can ease the burden of those affected by the disaster.

"We hope that this good deed can increase the enthusiasm of OPD in Malang City to continue to improve their performance," hoped Bung Edi, as the Deputy Mayor of Malang is familiarly called.

Regarding donations, the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, added that although donations in the form of goods have been sent, it does not rule out the possibility of continuing to make donations in the form of money which will later be forwarded to Central Sulawesi.

Sutiaji also advised all ASN in the Malang City Government to collect donations of at least one thousand rupiah per day to help disaster victims.

"We hope that ASN Malang City will donate at least Rp1.000 every day. If there are 7.300 ASN in Malang City, at least Rp7.300.000 will be collected every day," explained Sutiaji.

Meanwhile, the Acting Head of the Malang City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Dr. Handi Priyanto, AP, M.Si, said that the aid sent to Central Sulawesi this time would be transported using two trucks.

"The aid sent was in the form of 178 sacks of clothing, 60 boxes of ready-to-eat food, 7 boxes of baby diapers, four boxes of toiletries, two boxes of sandals and shoes, 25 tarpaulins. Currently, the aid will be sent to Lantamal Surabaya before being distributed to Central Sulawesi," explained Handi.

For donations in the form of money, the amount collected is Rp82.519.000. The assistance in the form of money will continue to increase as the Malang City Government continues to raise funds. (cah/yon)
