This surprise inspection (sidak) of street children and beggars was carried out on Tuesday night (16/10) in the area of ​​Jl. Sutan Syahrir, Klojen District, Malang City. On this occasion, the Mayor of Malang was accompanied by the Head of the Malang City Social Service, Dra. Sri Wahyuningtyas, M.Si, Head of the Malang City Satpol PP Drs. Priyadi, MM, Head of Public Relations of the Malang City Regional Secretariat, Muhammad Nur Widianto, S.Sos, and a number of personnel from the Malang City Social Service.

Sitting in the courtyard of the shop, Malang Mayor Sutiaji gave a lot of advice, direction and appeal so that beggars no longer live on the streets and immediately return to their respective regions. "We have coordinated with regional governments across regions such as the Lumajang, Jember and Sidoarjo regencies in order to repatriate these beggars," he said.

The liberation of Malang City from beggars, continued Sutiaji, is an effort or strengthening of Malang City's label as a dignified city. "In addition, it is also to support Malang City as a Heritage City and tourist destination. Where one of the benchmarks is that an area must be free from beggars," he added.

In addition to data collection, Sutiaji also gave some money to dozens of beggars that could be used for the cost of returning to their respective areas or to buy food. For beggars who come from Malang City will be accommodated and fostered by the Social Service.

After the liberation efforts from beggars, Sutiaji will also do the same thing to street children (anjal) so that in the future Malang City will truly become a dignified city. (say/yon)
