In order to strengthen itself as a halal tourism city destination, Malang City is actively holding various... event. Such as the Halal Tourism Bazaar opened by the Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji on Jl. Gajahmada, Monday (22/10) which was attended by dozens of UMKM actors.
In this context, Sutiaji explained, the meaning of halal is not only from the appearance of the place, service and clothing, but also the procedures so that the food served truly meets halal standards. For example, how to slaughter animals and how to process them properly and correctly and get halal label certification from authorized institutions, such as the Indonesian Ulema Council.
Five places that were used pilot project by Malang City to realize the label as a halal tourist city destination, the Head of the Malang City Culture and Tourism Office (Disbudapar) said that the Regent's Park Hotel and Brawijaya University Guest House for the hotel category. "While the culinary is Inggil Restaurant, Brawijaya University Canteen, and Taman Indie Resto," he explained.
This program was welcomed by Heni Anisa, an MSME actor involved in the halal bazaar because according to her, in Indonesia, especially in Malang Raya, the Muslim population is dominant. "On the other hand, the potential of MSMEs in the culinary field is also adequate in addition to tourist visits which are also significant from time to time," she added.
With this program, it is expected that Malang City will become one of the tourist destinations, especially halal tourism, so that it will also have a positive impact on all levels of society.
