Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – To commemorate the 73rd Anniversary of East Java Province in 2018, an arts and cultural performance, namely a shadow puppet and campursari art performance, was held in the front yard of Malang City Hall, Saturday (3/11).
This art and cultural performance received an extraordinary response from the community. Not only local residents who watched the performance, foreign tourists who passed through the Malang City Hall area were also very enthusiastic about watching this performance.
Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji appreciated the holding of the shadow puppet and campursari performances. He said that activities like this are one of the efforts to preserve the extraordinary Javanese cultural traditions.
"The many sayings and advice conveyed by the puppeteer through the shadow puppet show are expected to be an inspiration to work better in the future," hoped Sutiaji, Saturday (3/11).
This wayang kulit performance featured three young puppeteers from Malang City, namely Ki Bayu Suryo Kusumo, Ki Nur Hanif and Ki Dian Permana Putra. Taking the play Babad Alas Wonomarto, puppeteer Ki Bayu performed wayang in the Malangan style, Ki Nur Hanif in the Surakarta style, and Ki Dian Permana in the Yogyakarta style.
"We are very concerned about improving the arts and culture which is part of the invaluable wealth of Malang City. We hope that this activity will be more actively carried out in the future," he hoped again. (cah/yon)
