Head of the Cooperatives and Micro Enterprises Department of Malang City Dra. Tri Widyani P., M.Si said that the UMKM upgrade program is in line with what was initiated by the Mayor of Malang Drs. Sutiaji, namely so that UMKM players can upgrade and have competitiveness in the global market.

The Facilitation of Business Strengthening Activities for Micro Businesses through technical guidance on business administration has at least 170 MSME actors from around 116 thousand in Malang City. The participants this time are MSME actors who are affiliated or under the guidance of the Malang City Cooperatives and Micro Business Office. Of the thousands of MSME actors, according to Tri Widyani, 90 percent are micro business actors.

The woman in hijab also appealed to MSMEs to take advantage of current technological advances and sophistication to develop or expand their business networks, such as for marketing, how to package products, and tastes that can meet market tastes.

"The government released that Indonesia's exports increased by 300 percent, and MSMEs were included in it and played a big role," he explained.

The same thing was also conveyed by the Chairperson of the Malang City PKK TP, Widayati, S.Sos, MM, who emphasized that MSME actors should be more creative and innovative in entering this digital era.

"Malang City is a City of Education, where tens or even hundreds of thousands of students come and go at any time. This is also a market share that can be targeted by UMKM players to promote and sell their work," explained the wife of the Mayor of Malang.

From this training, Widayati also hopes that UMKM actors will gain a lot of new knowledge, so that it can be applied in running their businesses. "The Malang City Government will fully support various efforts from UMKM actors so that they can later move up a class, and also be able to compete in the modern era or free market," he said.
