Coordination Meeting on Order and Security in the Province of East Java

Surabaya (malangkota.go.id) – Building conduciveness. That spirit was carried at the Coordination Meeting of Order and Security in the East Java Province Region held at the Grand City Surabaya Convention Hall, Tuesday (6/11).

The coordination meeting initiated by the East Java Provincial Government was attended by mayors, regents, Forpimda, sub-district heads, Danramil and Kapolsek throughout East Java, and was also attended by the leaders of the DPRD, KPU and Bawaslu throughout East Java.

East Java Governor Soekarwo in his speech said that aspirations are important for building the quality of democracy, but aspirations become a problem if they are carried out with excessive mass mobilization.

"We minimize movement and actions on the streets. I ask regional heads and Forkopimda ranks to jointly accommodate aspirations in regional government halls," added Pakdhe Karwo, as the East Java Governor is familiarly called.

He added that the condition of the country is determined more by perception. "If many actions occur, then what arises is the perception of fear, discomfort and uncertainty. In the end, politics experiences turmoil. That is what we must avoid or minimize in stages at every level," said the Governor of East Java in front of the coordination meeting participants.

The Governor of East Java also reminded that the democratic process will have an impact on the country's economy. "The economy is a perception, not necessarily a fact, so that unclear issues and or information (hoaxes) can shake the joints of the economy," said Pakdhe Karwo.

According to him, the downfall is often due to the emotional quality of human resources, low quality of health, low quality of infrastructure, and leadership which cannot provide comfort. To the ranks of the regional government bureaucracy, the Police and the TNI, Governor Soekarwo encouraged to develop and revive cultural solutions, a culture of peaceful dialogue as the path that must be taken.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Regional Autonomy of the Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs, Soni Soemarsono, emphasized the importance of maintaining the neutrality of ASN in the election stages.

"This is important, because regional heads are allowed to be successful teams and determine political choices, so with their political positions, it is hoped that ASN can sort and separate their roles as public servants to remain neutral and not be pulled," said Soni.

According to data from the Ministry of Home Affairs, there are 1.527 ASN violations related to neutrality that have been processed. In order to realize a safe and peaceful 2019 Election, Soni Soemarsono also invited 2019 'zero demo'.

In the middle of the coordination meeting, the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, responded to the message of conduciveness from Governor Soekarwo. "Of course, that is the commitment of Malang City. Moreover, the conduciveness of Malang City is recorded as the best nationally, even recognized internationally at the agenda of the conference of strong and conducive cities in Antalya, Turkey at that time (2017_ed)," said the friendly man.

The badminton enthusiast added that the steps taken to build conduciveness and synergy in movement are not limited to the Malang City area alone, but also include Greater Malang.

"That spirit of togetherness is what we continue to encourage and strengthen," said the Mayor of Malang who was present with the Dandim 0833 Malang City, the Chief of Police of Malang City, along with sub-district heads, police chiefs, Danramil throughout Malang City, and the Head of the Government and Bakesbang Section of Malang City.
