Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – In order to maintain and strengthen the existence of traditional markets (people's markets), the Malang City Government held a Market Festival in the parking area of the Malang Big Market, Tuesday (13/11) which was opened by the Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji.

In his speech, the Mayor of Malang said that this activity was held considering the increasing proliferation of modern markets, which has also influenced the lifestyle of people who seem reluctant to come and transact at traditional markets.
Through events like this, it will also gradually change and shape people's lifestyles to love traditional markets again.
Dozens of traditional traders were also involved. At this moment, there was alsolaunch e-retribution supported by government banks, thus providing convenience to the public and traders.
"Although the market is traditional, if the management is implemented in a modern way, it will provide a sense of comfort and optimal service to buyers," he explained.
With these various efforts, he continued, it will further increase the trust of traders in the government. "In the future, the Malang City Government will also soon form a BUMD so that the community will love traditional markets even more, which in the end the community will also want to come to shop comfortably at the people's market," explained the bespectacled man.
"To strengthen and realize this program, the Malang City Regional Regulation has also regulated the existence of modern markets. Such as the distance between modern markets is at least 500 meters, must not be close to traditional markets, and its existence is not a problem for the community," concluded Sutiaji. (say/yon)
