Regional Apparatus Forum for Preparation of Malang City PUPR Strategic Plan

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency (DPUPR) of Malang City held a Regional Apparatus/Cross-Regional Apparatus Forum for the Preparation of the Malang City DPUPR Strategic Plan (Renstra) for 2018-2023 at the Gajahmada Hotel, Malang City, Thursday (22/11).

In this activity, DPUPR Malang City invited all elements of regional apparatus, community leaders and also academics. On this occasion, DPUPR also presented various development achievements that have been carried out in 2018.

Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji said in his speech that good development requires good planning. What the DPUPR has done is clear, the data is clear, said the Mayor of Malang. starting points-it has been described, and now it's just a matter of where you want to go and where you're going.

"The zero point is clear, there are so many roads that are not good, where do we want to go?" starting points-it is clear. This is very important because it will determine the strategy for building the next five years," explained Sutiaji, Thursday (22/11).

Sutiaji added, although there are many plans to be carried out, of course there must be a priority for the next five years.

Meanwhile, regarding the spatial planning of Malang City, Sutiaji explained how the obedience and propriety of housing development to coordinate and cooperate according to existing regulations. The hope is that the good conditions in Malang City can be maintained.

"New housing is certainly not expected to be a contributor to flooding. Therefore, developers must understand in accordance with city development," said Sutiaji.

The existence of infiltration wells (biopores) in homes today must continue to be considered in order to prevent overflowing water that can cause flooding. Moreover, so far related to water channels, the Malang City Government has often built channels according to suggestions from the community.

"The problem is that many people still haven't thought about how the water channels are connected from house to house and where to dispose of them. This also requires a plan and strategy to find the best solution," Sutiaji explained. (cah/yon)
