Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Social Service held a Socialization of Social Assistance for Potential Social Welfare Sources (PSKS) at the Gajahmada Hotel, Tuesday (27/11/2018). Deputy Mayor of Malang Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko was present and opened the activity directly.
In his speech, Sofyan Edi Jarwoko said that every aid issued through the APBD or APBN must be accounted for. He also reminded PSKS in Malang City to be careful when providing assistance to recipients.
"Don't let PSKS misuse or misappropriate matters related to social assistance provided to the underprivileged," explained Bung Edi, the nickname of the Deputy Mayor of Malang.
However, PSKS is one of the commendable programs to eradicate poverty in Malang City. Therefore, the Deputy Mayor asked not to misuse data or anything related to assistance to the underprivileged.
He further stated that PSKS, which includes Community Social Workers (PSM), Sub-district Social Welfare Workers (TKSK) and Family Hope Program (PKH) Companions, must be able to distribute social assistance on time and to the right targets.
This is a program to help underprivileged families who are registered as recipients of social assistance, as well as an effort by the government to open access for citizens to participate in rehabilitating not only families but also various community programs.
"Social assistance is so important for the welfare of marginalized communities, that there needs to be a joint effort between the government and PSKS in this regard," he explained.
Bung Edi hopes that PSKS can carry out its mandate well and not use the data or information it has for outside interests, not be involved in practical political activities, not embezzle or reduce or save social assistance funds.
"If there is a report regarding misappropriation, the government will investigate thoroughly and if proven, sanctions will be up to dismissal," he concluded. (cah/ram/yon)
