Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Even though it was raining, the Deputy Mayor of Malang accompanied by the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Malang City, the Assistant for Economic Affairs of the Malang City Secretariat went directly to trace and monitor the sources of water pools that had the potential to cause flooding in the Jl. Galunggung area (28/11).

Deputy Mayor of Malang inspects waterlogging points in the Galunggung area with the Regional Secretary of Malang City

"Yesterday, under the command of the Mayor, we have conducted a site review and at the same time communicated with local residents to strengthen the steps to find a solution, and it coincided with rain so we know directly the situation on the ground. So my friends and I conducted a field review," said Bung Edi, as the Deputy Mayor of Malang Ir. H. Sofyan Edi Jarwoko is familiarly called.

Sofyan Edi Jarwoko underlined many notes during the inspection, such as the shallowing of the river, the narrowing of the water channels, crossing the undistributed water flow to the billboard foundation chunks and the channel lip restrictions that actually prevent rainwater from entering the channel. Even together with the Regional Secretary of Malang City Drs. Wasto, SH, MH, Bung Edi did not hesitate to immediately take action to demolish it.

"This (flooding in the Galunggung area) is an annual problem. It happens from year to year, and I believe that a solution is always sought. And today is the part to find a solution and hopefully we can complete it. Earlier I asked Mr. Wasto (City Secretary) and Mr. Soni (Head of PUPR) to focus on completing one point so that it is truly completed," explained Bung Edi. (say/yon)
