Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – Increasingly active and enthusiastic in pursuing the target that must be realized by the end of 208, the Malang City Regional Tax Service Agency (BP2D) again held a Joint Tax Awareness Operation (Opsgab), Tuesday (4/12).

In addition to conducting routine operations every day and night in an effort to intensify and extend taxes silently with the UPL team or BP2D Internal Tax Task Force, joint operations are also periodically held involving cross-agency and BP2D work partners, such as this time.
This was conveyed by the Head of BP2D Malang City Ir. Ade Herawanto, MT, Tuesday (04/12). The holding of the Joint Operation (Ospgab) this time, he continued, involved a team consisting of elements of the Malang City Government, such as BP2D, Satpol PP and DPMPTSP as well as the Malang District Attorney's Office.
The 17 points targeted by the joint operation include Taxpayers of Boarding Houses, Restaurants/Eating Houses and Land & Building Tax (PBB). "Generally, they are stubborn local tax defaulters who have been given warning letters but have not shown any good faith to complete their obligations," explained the man who is familiarly called Sam Ade.
This activity, explained Sam Ade, is not merely a repressive action, but rather a persuasive one as a learning experience for the community to increase awareness and compliance in fulfilling regional tax obligations, as well as in an effort to reduce arrears and unravel the receivables of the Malang City Government.
"The target for boarding house taxpayers is spread across the Sumbersari, Sigura-gura, and Tlogomas areas. Resto taxpayers are in the Sawojajar, Sarangan, Klojen areas and the Soekarno-Hatta area, while the target for PBB taxpayers is in the Gadang, Tidar and Purwantoro areas," he explained.
Of the 17 taxpayers, he added, the total value of the arrears targeted this time is around Rp616 million. Because there is no good faith to fulfill the obligation, the Opsgab team immediately attached stickers and installed stakes at the business location of the taxpayer concerned, which must not be removed before the taxpayer makes payment.
Furthermore, the man who once served as Head of Public Relations of the Malang City Regional Secretariat said that the results of the combination of routine and joint operations were quite significant, in addition to efforts to reduce arrears and unravel the Malang City Government's receivables, it would also certainly increase PAD from the tax sector.
"As of the end of November 2018, the realization recorded by BP2D was IDR 393 billion or 94% of the total target this year of IDR 420 billion," explained Sam Ade.
For BPHTB Tax, so far opsgab cannot be done because it is considered a passive tax. "In this case, of course we cannot force the Taxpayer to carry out a transaction to buy or sell land or property. Because in recording BPHTB Tax we are waiting for the transaction and management by the Taxpayer concerned," he added.
Therefore, he explained, Malang City residents who will or are conducting land/property sale and purchase transactions are advised to immediately process BPHTB Tax before mid-December.
"From the passive tax sector such as BPHTB, that is the mechanism, so it is impossible for us to conduct raids or opsgab so that people sell their land," joked the man who is also known as a musician and Aremania figure. (say/yon)
