Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – In order for the implementation of the general election process to run smoothly, the General Election Commission (KPU) of Malang City provided training for the District Election Committee (PPK) and PPS (Voting Committee). Election officers at the sub-district and village levels were equipped with technical aspects of implementing voting at TPS (Polling Stations) and how to determine valid or invalid votes.
The purpose of this training is so that the community as the owners of voting rights understands the meaning and process of the election so that they can ultimately exercise their rights properly and correctly.
These are some of the things conveyed by the Commissioner of the Malang City KPU, Ashari Husein on the sidelines of the briefing event, Friday evening (11/01/2019) in the hall of the Klojen District Office.
According to Ashari, peaceful elections and high participation rates are the targets desired by the Malang City KPU in the implementation of the 2019 simultaneous elections.
"These two things are one of the benchmarks for the success of the implementation of the democratic party, so various maximum preparations are needed," he added.
Regarding this, Ashari said that his party provided training and briefing for election officers at the sub-district and village levels, namely PPK and PPS. "From this event, later these officers will understand how and what to do when voting," he explained.
Ashari further said that the role and function of PPK and PPS officers are very large, because they will also socialize how the community can exercise their voting rights properly and correctly.
In the 2019 election to be held on April 17, citizens who have the right to vote will receive five ballot papers to choose the future leaders of the nation.
"This is where there is a potential for invalid votes and how to determine valid votes for candidate leaders or political parties," he explained again.
By providing training, provision, and voting simulations like this, he added, it will be able to reduce problems or disputes caused by how to determine valid votes or not. "So that the democratic party runs smoothly and the level of public participation is high, because indications of fraud can be avoided," concluded Ashari. (say/yon)
