Bogor (malangkota.go.id) – When meeting with participants of the ASN PT Taspen entrepreneurship program, President Joko Widodo reminded that in running a business, actors often have difficulty marketing their products. Therefore, before starting to decide on the business field to be engaged in, President Jokowi emphasized to first find out the opportunities and existing markets.
"When making a product, look at the market first, because the hardest part is marketing it. You may be able to produce it, but you really have to look at where to sell it," said President Jokowi at the Sentul International Convention Center, Bogor Regency, West Java, Wednesday (16/1/2019).
According to him, there are still many opportunities around us that if observed carefully will bring benefits. The President of the Republic of Indonesia said that Indonesia with 260 million people is a very large market.
However, there are still many types of products in the local market that are still filled with foreign products. In fact, local products according to President Jokowi if packaged and marketed well have the same opportunity to compete in the market itself and abroad.
"Our 260 million population is a very large market. Some products in Indonesia are still filled with foreign products. I invite you to replace them with our own products," he said.
Therefore, the seventh President of the Republic of Indonesia asked ASN who will enter retirement and retirees who want to start a business to make full use of this entrepreneurship program from PT Taspen.
Through this program, he said that ASN will receive assistance and training in starting and developing businesses.
"Starting a business is not easy, many succeed but also many fail. If now there is a mentoring program, it would be better because we can really know, understand, what we have to do and do," he said.
Also attending the event were Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Rini Soemarno, Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Syafruddin, Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Anak Agung Gede Ngurah Puspayoga, Mayor of Bogor Bima Arya Sugiarto, President Director of PT Taspen Iqbal Latanro, and President Commissioner of PT Taspen Franky Sibarani.
