Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) continues to strive to provide the best service to the people of Malang City.

Acting Director of PDAM Malang City, Anita Sari apologized to PDAM Malang City customers whose water services were disrupted. Currently, PDAM continues to normalize to provide the best service for customers.
The area most recently affected by the PDAM water channel congestion was in the Bulan Terang Utama (BTU) Housing Complex, Madyopuro Village, Kedungkandang District, Malang City.
"The anomaly occurred on January 15, 2019 due to a disruption in the water supply in Buring Atas, Buring Village, Kedungkandang District," explained Anita Sari, Friday (18/01/2019).
It was detected in Total Water Utility Integrated Network (TWUIN) Command center (TCC) Malang City Water Company. After that, PDAM immediately took action. After the anomaly, he explained, normalization was continued with wind removal and the anomaly occurred due to waste from the remains of the previous PDAM pipe construction project.
"The garbage clogged the channel, indicating that the garbage was garbage from a past project. The project was a grant project and there was no cleaning of the pipes during the handover," explained Anita Sari.
PDAM will redesign the water pipes to make it easier for officers to clean the garbage that enters the pipes, so that this incident does not happen again.
In addition, PDAM also enlarged the water pipe strainer with the aim that if there is a blockage it can be resolved quickly. The plan is that PDAM will do live streaming when doing a redesign. This is done so that the public can see the improvement process directly.
Due to the anomaly, it is estimated that 25 thousand PDAM customers are affected from a total of 163.042 customers. Meanwhile, customers in BTU Housing are estimated at 3.000 customers.
"We are targeting everything to return to normal in the next two weeks. We apologize profusely to the public for this inconvenience," said Anita Sari. (cah/ram/yon)
