"This technical guidance is very important to improve the capabilities of the Malang City Pokdarwis in the world of tourism," said Ida, Tuesday (29/1).
Moreover, the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism is also very serious in helping Malang City to continue to improve its tourism potential. The form of this seriousness is that in 2019 the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism disbursed funds for the development and development of tourism in Malang City.
In accordance with the mandate of the Mayor of Malang, to achieve Malang Bermabat City there are six concepts, namely: Malang City Heritagee, Malang Creative, Malang Role Model Services, Malang 4.0, Malang Halal, and Malang Nyaman. "To be able to realize all of that requires cooperation and togetherness," explained Ida.
Ida hopes that tourist visits to Malang City, both domestic and foreign tourists in 2019 can increase. It was recorded that in 2018 there were 11.000 foreign tourists visiting Malang City, and in the future it is expected to be even more.
Likewise, for domestic tourists, it is expected that in 2019 they can reach seven million visits to Malang City. "In order for that ideal to be realized, Malang City must continue to maintain a conducive atmosphere," he explained again.
In contrast to Batu City and Malang Regency which have great tourism potential with their natural beauty, the potential of Malang City as an environmentally based tourism destination and also other urban tourism potential must continue to be improved.
"The potential of Malang City, which has 60 universities, must be utilized, because it has superior human resources," said Ida.
He added that currently in Malang City there are only 13 Pokdarwis, and in the future it is hoped that each sub-district will have one Pokdarwis.
For that reason, the Head of LPMK throughout Malang City was also present at this activity to be able to become the instigator of the establishment of Pokdarwis in 57 sub-districts in Malang City. (cah/yon)
