Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – In 2019, the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture (Mendikbud) will focus more on preparing Vocational High School (SMK) graduates who are ready to be accepted for work and whose skills are in accordance with the demands of the world of work.

The learning system and curriculum that have been implemented so far will also be changed for the better, so that vocational school graduates can enter the world of work well.
The Ministry of Education and Culture will also overhaul the learning system and curriculum in vocational schools, where after the infrastructure of educational institutions continues to improve, the next target is the development and provision of reliable and competent human resources.
These are some of the things conveyed by the Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture, Prof. Dr. Muhadjir Effendy, MAP after visiting three schools in Jl. Tugu Malang City (SMAN 1, 3, 4), Monday (04/02/2019).
The learning program at vocational schools was previously based on supply base, he said, will be changed to demand base, where each vocational school must prepare its graduates according to the demands of job providers.
So far, explained the Minister of Education and Culture, vocational school managers are still unilateral in determining the learning system and easily graduating their students, so that they cannot be optimally absorbed by the world of work.
"This kind of thing will not happen again and will not happen again, and the learning system must be 60 percent in the workplace and the remaining 40 percent in educational institutions," he explained.
"These job providers must be invited to schools to help formulate an effective curriculum or learning system. From here, in addition to improving good relations between schools and job providers, graduates will also be more skilled and better prepared when entering the real world of work," he explained further.
On the other hand, the Minister of Education and Culture will also revitalize high schools, especially those related to learning technology so that it will eventually approach perfection. This is also related because Indonesia has begun to enter a demographic bonus, so that the preparation of human resources must be truly maximized. (say/yon)
