Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Chairman of the Malang City DPRD, Bambang Heri Susanto, admitted that he was concerned about the condition of Malang City where when it rains there are still puddles and floods in several areas, although the scale is not too large. According to him, such incidents will no longer occur if all elements of society have a high sense of concern for the environment.

That was what Bambang said on Wednesday (06/02/2019). Regarding this, Bambang admitted that he had coordinated with five sub-district heads in Malang City. So that later each sub-district head can map which areas or sub-districts are prone to flooding and how to overcome it.
No less important, Bambang continued, is that the culture of community service be encouraged again in the community. "Every head and/or RW head can mobilize their residents to do community service once a week or once every two weeks to clean the village," he added.
From the community service, he said, residents are more focused on cleaning water channels. Because it is currently the rainy season, in addition to preventing flooding or overflowing water when it rains, it is also to anticipate the development of dengue fever mosquitoes. "With one program, two problems can be prevented," continued Bambang.
To overcome the garbage that clogs the water channels, he explained, which is rather difficult in the main road area, because it will take longer. "Therefore, public awareness is needed not to litter, especially in water channels," explained Bambang.
"For Malang City Government, perhaps it can be done through the Clean Friday program, by deploying ASN, especially cleaners in certain areas that are prone to or trigger flooding. The point is that the community service program can be one solution to prevent and anticipate flooding," he concluded. (say/ram)
