Sutiaji Appreciates Universities for Strengthening Halal Tourism Destinations

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Malang City is one of the cities that continues to strive to carry the Halal Tourism Destination label, and to further strengthen this, much support is needed from various parties, including academics or universities. Universities will be one of the focuses and have an important role in this, so that whatever is planned by the Malang City Government runs well.

Sutiaji after opening the MoU event, Launching of the Halal Center and Seminar entitled The Role of Universities in the Implementation of the Halal Product Guarantee Law at the Sasana Budaya Building, State University of Malang, Friday (08/02/2019).

According to him, universities must also be involved in making policies, because they can carry out maximum studies.

"As in making regional regulations, then legal drafting-is in universities. Universities are basically science and research, so their role is very large. So far, the contribution of universities to the government has also been very good," added Sutiaji.

The bespectacled man further added that universities are also needed in the process of cultural transformation, especially now that the world is experiencing an industrial revolution.

"In relation to this halal, the presence of universities, especially Malang State University, is expected to be very helpful, especially since later there will be... Halal Center," he continued.

Support from universities, previously carried out by Brawijaya University, currently following UM, and later will be followed by other universities. In relation to this, of course it will greatly support the Malang City Government program related to the implementation of halal certification for various places, such as restaurants, hotels and eateries.

In addition, the man who has a badminton hobby also initiated the Halal Market, where in the market will sell goods that are guaranteed halal. "For example, chicken, the way of slaughtering must meet halal requirements so that people do not have worries when shopping at the market," explained Sutiaji. (say/yon)
