Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – The success of the democratic party and the election of trustworthy national leaders is a great hope for all elements of society, including millennials who are also first-time voters.
In this regard, the young generation is very enthusiastic to cast their votes in the democratic party that will be held on April 17. This was seen when the Malang City KPU opened a post for processing A-5 forms or moving to vote.
In Malang City there are at least 57 state and private universities with hundreds of thousands of students from various regions in Indonesia. Every student certainly has the right to vote in the Simultaneous Election which will be held on April 17, 2019, and not a few are even first-time voters.
Regarding this, Deny R. Bachtiar from the Planning and Data Division of the Malang City KPU when met on Monday (11/02/2019) said that his party deliberately opened 58 posts for processing A-5 forms or voter transfer letters. One post is at the Malang City KPU Office and the rest are in 57 sub-districts in Malang City.
The post, which was opened from early January to February 17, he said, was to reduce the potential for abstentions, because not all students can exercise their right to vote for various reasons.
"With the facilitation from the election organizers, they don't need to bother going to their home regions," he said.
Every day, Deny continued, hundreds of students take care of the A-5 form to the KPU Office and at 57 sub-district offices. In addition to their high enthusiasm, these millennials also have high hopes for the success of the democratic party.
To take care of this A-5 form, just bring a photocopy of your ID card and family card, and make sure the person concerned has been registered as a permanent voter in their home area. And to get the A-5 form is very fast, where if the requirements are complete, it only takes a matter of minutes to complete.
"If possible, after February 17, the KPU will reopen the processing of A-5 forms considering the high enthusiasm of the youth. However, the time will be determined later, and whether it will be reopened or not, depends on the situation and conditions later," explained Deny.
Meanwhile, one of the students from a state university in Malang City, Sarah Azahra, who is currently taking care of the voter transfer form, hopes that the election will run successfully and peacefully, and that trustworthy national leaders will be elected.
The same thing was also conveyed by Zulfikar who is also a PTN student in Malang City. He hopes that the election will run peacefully and the leaders who are elected will be in accordance with the people's hopes. (say/yon)
