Surabaya (malangkota.go.id) – Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji hopes that development in East Java during the leadership of the elected Governor and Deputy Governor for the 2018-2023 period, Khofifah Indar Parawansa and Emil Dardak can be realized well.
As a regional leader, he said he must be ready to synergize in developing East Java, including Malang City. "As a regional leader, Malang City is ready to synergize in development," said Sutiaji on the sidelines of attending the farewell event of the Governor of East Java and Deputy Governor of East Java Soekarwo-Syaifullah Yusuf at the Grahadi Building, Surabaya, Monday (11/2) night.
Malang Mayor Sutiaji congratulated the elected Governor and Deputy Governor, and thanked Soekarwo and Syaifullah Yusuf who have successfully led East Java well.
"On behalf of the people of Malang City, I would like to express my gratitude for Pakdhe Karwo's dedication during his ten years as Governor of East Java," he said.
At the event attended by 38 regional heads from all over East Java, Pakdhe Karwo (Soekarwo's nickname) said goodbye to all regional heads and the community because his term of office had ended and he would be replaced by Khofifah Indar Parawansa and Emil Dardak.
Pakdhe Karwo explained that every era will give birth to a leader who is suited to the time, therefore every leader will face different problems that must be resolved.
"Therefore, there needs to be cooperation from all elements so that development can proceed according to plan," he said.
Pakdhe Karwo also emphasized that East Java society is a diverse society. However, with that plurality, society can live side by side in peace and tranquility.
In addition, on this occasion, Pakdhe Karwo also revealed various progress and experiences in leading East Java for 10 years.
"Even the decisions and policies taken are based on the behavior and social life that exist in East Java society," he added.
Pakdhe Karwo also apologized to the community and all elements if during his leadership there were mistakes or things that were not pleasing. "I apologize if during my ten years of leadership there were mistakes, because humans are not free from mistakes," he said.
Meanwhile, the elected Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa in her speech emphasized that she will continue the programs of Pakdhe Karwo and Syaifullah Yusuf which have been successful and will make various breakthroughs and new programs so that the development of East Java can run well.
Khofifah said that her party has coordinated with horizontal and vertical ranks in the government so that communication during the upcoming leadership period runs well. "I was facilitated by the Chairman of the East Java DPRD on how to build communication during the ten years of Pakdhe Karwo and Gus Ipul's leadership, so that in the future we can synergize well," she explained.
At the end of her speech, Khofifah hopes that during the upcoming leadership period she can work well with all components, so that the ideals of East Java development can be realized. (hms/yon)
