Malang City Genre Ambassador Election 2019
A. Background
In order to respond to current adolescent problems, BKKBN has developed the Generation Planning Program (GenRe). The GenRe program is a program developed in order to prepare family life for adolescents through an understanding of Marriage Age Maturation so that they are able to continue their education in a planned manner, and marry with full planning according to the reproductive health cycle.
The GenRe program is a program that prioritizes the formation of national character among the younger generation. The GenRe program is a forum for developing national character because it teaches teenagers to stay away from Early Marriage, Premarital Sex and Drugs in order to become tough teenagers and can contribute to development and be useful for the nation and country.
To achieve the above objectives, the GenRe program developed materials including Adolescent Reproductive Health, Life Skills, Family Life Preparation, and Population and Family Development. The GenRe program is implemented through the development of the Adolescent Information and Counseling Center (PIK) with an approach from, by and for adolescents in accordance with the tendency of adolescents who prefer to talk about their problems with peers.
Currently, PIK Remaja consists of around 80 groups spread across 57 sub-districts in Malang City which are expected to be a place for teenagers to gather, share stories, be creative and exchange information. PIK Remaja is developed through schools, colleges, and Islamic boarding schools. In the community, including through youth organizations, religious organizations, and youth communication. Both of these channels are important targets for approaching the youth community.
In order to improve the socialization and promotion of the GenRe program, especially for the development of PIK Remaja as a forum for information and counseling services, a motivator figure from among teenagers is needed. This motivator figure will be the representative or Ambassador of GenRe. With the presence of the GenRe Ambassador, the socialization and promotion of the GenRe program in the youth environment will be more effective because the communication that is established is carried out with an approach from, by and for teenagers so that it becomes youth-friendly. In addition, in the youth environment in general, the GenRe Ambassador icon is considered to provide added value in terms of socialization and promotion of the GenRe program.
B. Purpose
- General purpose
Increasing the socialization and promotion of the KKBPK Program through the GenRe program among teenagers so that they have positive knowledge, attitudes and behavior in developing themselves mentally, physically, intellectually, spiritually and socially.
- Special purpose
- Developing a positive image of the GenRe Program through the figure of the Genre Ambassador.
- Increase the promotion of the KKBPK Program in the youth environment.
- Expanding the partnership and stakeholder network for the GenRe and KKBPK programs through GenRe Ambassadors.
B. Expected Results
- The election of the 2019 GenRe Ambassadors from the education and community paths who can be examples, figures and role models for other teenagers.
- Increasing stakeholder and partner support for the GenRe Program.
