Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – The news about Diah Anggraeni, a female migrant worker (TKW) from Malang City who did not receive her rights for 12 years while working for her employer in Jordan is a lesson for all parties.

Diah went to work in Jordan known to be non-procedural or illegal. Diah Anggraeni's case also received attention from the Head of the Indonesian Migrant Worker Placement and Protection Service Post (P4TKI) Malang Muhammad Iqbal. So that this incident that is very detrimental to Indonesian workers does not happen again, his party asked the public to be vigilant.
Iqbal emphasized that job seekers should not just believe when they receive an attractive job offer abroad. Because for the Middle East region there is already a rule to no longer use Indonesian domestic helpers (PRT).
"If currently there are those who offer to work in the Middle East as domestic workers, it is certainly illegal. Therefore, we hope that the public will be vigilant and not be tempted by the temptation to work as migrant workers in Saudi Arabia," explained Iqbal, Tuesday (19/2).
Iqbal added that Saudi Arabia currently only accepts Indonesian workers for the formal sector. The legal sector is cleaning services, drivers, technicians, and not for domestic helpers.
"In addition to Diah, we are currently also resolving a case that occurred in Saudi Arabia. Later, when everything is finished, we will provide information," said Iqbal.
Regarding Diah Anggraeni who has now returned to Malang City, her rights while working in Jordan for 12 years were revealed by Iqbal to be obtained soon. Iqbal advised Diah not to return abroad, because with the money she currently has, Diah is expected to be able to start her own business in her hometown, Malang City. (cah/yon)
