Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – Instilling in students from an early age the need to care for the environment, Malang City Scouts held a Jamboree Cleanliness (Clean Malang) 2019 entitled Caring for Waste, Manage with 3R which was held from Friday (22/2/2019) to Sunday (24/2/2019).

Attended by junior high school students throughout Malang City, the jamboree held at the Madyopuro Campground in Malang City was opened by the Assistant for Government and Social Welfare of the Malang City Regional Secretariat Drs. Abdul Malik, M.Pd, Friday (22/2/2019).
In his speech, Malik expressed his appreciation for the activities carried out by the Malang City Scouts. According to him, this jamboree activity is very good because it provides environmental education to children from an early age.
"We hope that activities like this will be carried out more often so that Malang City will be cleaner, with no more rubbish being dumped carelessly," Malik hoped, Friday (22/2).
This activity is also a real solution to educate children to love the environment more, especially since in 2018 Malang City still could not achieve Adipura Kencana, one of the reasons being the waste problem.
Meanwhile, the Head of L3R Malang City, Eri Sumarni said that this joint scout activity was initiated together with the Malang City Garbage Care Community. Where since it was declared in 2016, various actions have continued to be carried out.
"Not only in this Scouting activity, we are providing education on waste management, we are also actively campaigning at various events, including car Free Day," explained Eri.
In addition to waste management, this jamboree also carried out greening activities in the Madyopuro area by planting various plants to make it greener and cooler. (cah/yon)
