Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – In the last four days, the logistics warehouse of the General Election Commission (KPU) of Malang City has been carrying out the process of folding ballots. Of the thousands of ballots, dozens of damaged ballots were found, and later after the folding process is complete, the number of damaged ballots will be counted.
Furthermore, damaged ballots will be returned to the logistics section of the central KPU to be replaced with new ballots, so that the Simultaneous Elections to be held on April 17, 2019 can run smoothly and there is no shortage of ballots.
Ballot papers folded by local residents recruited by the Malang City KPU are ballot papers for the provincial DPRD and the Indonesian House of Representatives. On the first day, there were already around 625 folded ballot papers.
Head of General Finance and Logistics of the Malang City KPU, Kamilia Cahyani, A.Md, Tuesday (26/02/2019) revealed that on the second and third days, approximately 1.500 ballots will be folded and the folding process is targeted to be completed within a week.
In some parts of the ballot paper, Kamilia explained that the printing was illegible or unclear, so they had to be separated and could not be used for voting.
"All damaged ballots will be collected and counted, and when the folding is complete, all will be returned to the logistics section of the central KPU to be replaced with new ballots. Other damage, such as torn ballots or reversed printing, has not been found by the KPUD so far," he explained.
In the process of folding the votes, the ranks of the Malang City KPU continue to monitor intensively and appeal to residents who are tasked with folding to be more selective. "So that if there are damaged ballots, they can be detected and collected and placed separately," concluded Kamilia. (say/yon)
