Malang City Bawaslu Again Controls APK That Violates Rules

Starfruit (malangkota.go.id) – As an effort to enforce the rules and maintain the beauty of the city, the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Malang City is intensively controlling the Campaign Equipment (APK). This control was carried out by Bawaslu based on SKKPU No. 13 of 2018 regarding several points where APK is prohibited from being installed.

Officers from the Malang City Bawaslu take action against APKs that violate regulations and have expired.

The Head of the Malang City Bawaslu, Alim Mustofa, Thursday (21/03/2019) said that the regulation and forced removal of various types of APK, including billboards, banners, and other campaign media, are APK that violate the rules, such as being installed in prohibited places and having expired validity periods.

During February 2019, Alim said that his party had controlled 1.535 APKs, and by mid-March around 1.482 APKs.

"We have continuously appealed to political parties and legislative candidates to obey the rules on installing APK, but many violations have been found, so we have been forced to take action," he said.

In addition, he explained that Bawaslu Malang City has appealed to APK installers to take down APKs that are still valid so as not to disrupt the city view. However, the appeal was not heeded so that officers had to take it down.

Alim also appealed that every APK installation should not be nailed to tree trunks and should not stretch or cut across roads because it can disrupt traffic flow.

"These legislative candidates are prospective leaders, so they should set a good example, especially by installing this APK," he said. (say/yon)
