Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – In order to help smooth the mobility of the people of East Java in celebrating Eid al-Fitr 2019 (1440 H), the East Java Provincial Government in collaboration with PT Kereta Api Indonesia Regional Operations (Daop) 8 Surabaya is organizing a free homecoming and return program with 14 train trips operating in the East Java region.
As revealed by the Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 8 Surabaya, when met at Kota Baru Malang Station, Wednesday (27/03/2019), the departure date for the free train transportation will last for 16 days, starting from 28 May 2019 (D-8) to 12 June 2019 (D+6).
Specifically for KA Probowangi (Surabaya Gubeng-Banyuwangi) and KA Tawang Alun (Malang-Banyuwangi), free homecoming departures are valid from May 31 to June 4, 2019, and free return departures are valid from June 7 to June 10, 2019.
During the 2019 Eid transportation period, Suprapto explained that the East Java Provincial Government has provided 174 train trips for the free train service program. The details of the train trips included in the free homecoming and return program include 97 train trips for the Homecoming Flow and 77 train trips for the Return Flow.
The total daily transport capacity averages 11.881 seats. The requirements for getting free homecoming and return transportation tickets using this train are as follows:
- Ticket reservations can only be made online at stations passed by the Free Return Homecoming Train.
- Free return homecoming ticket reservations start from 09.00 WIB – 16.00 WIB.
- For bookings of Penataran, Dhoho, Tumapel and Local Economy train tickets, it can be done D-7 or starting on May 21, 2019.
- Special reservations for Probowangi and Tawang Alun train tickets can be made 60 days in advance or starting from April 1, 2019.
- For reservations at the station, it is mandatory to fill in the reservation form provided at each station, where you must fill in the passenger's name and identity.
- One person can order a maximum of four tickets.
- Tickets cannot be cancelled or postponed or transferred to another person.
- Free homecoming and return train tickets cannot be ordered via the KAI Access application, the internet or other external channels.
"This free homecoming and return program is a form of concern and attention from the East Java Government in order to serve the needs of its people. We from PT KAI Daop 8 Surabaya welcome the cooperation with the East Java Provincial Government in realizing this pro-people program," explained Suprapto.
He hopes that the public can make the most of the opportunity by using this mass transportation to facilitate mobility and reduce congestion due to the high frequency of traffic during the 2019 Eid transportation period. (say/yon)
