Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – In order to raise the potential of Small and Medium Industry (IKM) products, especially batik, the Malang City Regional National Craft Council (Dekranasda) held the 2019 Dekranasda Fair at Graha Cakrawala, Malang State University, Monday (1/4/2019) to Friday (5/4/2019).
The Dekranasda Fair was opened by the Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, together with the Chairperson of the East Java Dekranasda, Arumi Emil Dardak, and the Chairperson of the Malang City Dekranasda, Widayati, S.Sos, MM, Monday (01/04/2019). Also present on this occasion were the Deputy Mayor of Malang, the ranks of the Malang City Forkopimda, and the Malang City Regional Secretary and his wife.
Dozens of IKM actors throughout East Java also enlivened this event and offered various superior products. According to Arumi, Malang City has very high potential in the IKM sector, especially batik which is a characteristic and has been recognized by the world as an original Indonesian culture. This potential, she said, must continue to be improved so that IKM actors continue to thrive from time to time.
In terms of human resources, the wife of the Deputy Governor of East Java, Emil Dardak, said that Malang City is beyond doubt and this is proven by the many quality universities. In addition, this is also driven by the growth of many startups in this city which are dominated by young people. "It is no wonder that Malang City is nicknamed one of the best creative cities in this country," she said.
The same thing was also conveyed by the Chairperson of Dekranasda Malang City Widayati. She said that various events like this will be held routinely to provide a wider forum and space for IKM actors. "We will also continue to provide special assistance for IKM actors who have high potential or new actors so that their growth and development run optimally," she explained.
According to the wife of the Mayor of Malang, the Malang City Government also pays great attention to IKM actors by holding various events, such as some time ago in the yard of the Malang City Hall which was labeled the Creative Market. "We will also continue to encourage the birth of creative entrepreneurs from young people so that they can also compete at various levels of the global market," added the woman in the hijab.
Before the opening of the Malang City Dekranasda Fair, the 2019 Malangan Batik Motif Design Competition was also held, which was also attended by dozens of participants from various regions, including from outside Malang City.
From a number of participants, the best participants have now been selected, and from several of these designs will be used as a typical batik motif for Malang City. "Thus, Malang City will later have a typical batik which in the future will also be used as the official batik for ASN in the Malang City Government environment," he concluded. (say/yon)
