Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – At the 2019 Malang City Dekranasda Fair held at Graha Cakrawala, Malang State University, Monday (1/4/2019) to Friday (5/4/2019), there was one batik craft booth that was seen to be crowded with visitors, including students.

The booth belongs to Astutik Ningtias, a batik maker from Malang who has a high level of concern for batik, which is the nation's ancestral heritage and has been recognized by the world as an original Indonesian culture.
Not only is it crowded with visitors who see the batik, it turns out that Astutik also provides free batik training and it turns out that many are interested in the young generation and students who come or are given assignments by their schools.
The woman in the hijab patiently guides every student who comes, starting from making motifs to how to make good batik.
After being given instructions, the students immediately practiced starting from canting on the cloth that had also been prepared. They seemed very enthusiastic and wanted to learn more about batik after trying and practicing the excitement of batik.
Not only does she provide training at every exhibition she participates in, it turns out that according to Astutik's confession, she also provides free training at her home. The materials and equipment used have also been prepared at her home.

This middle-aged woman admitted that she also often provides free batik training in educational institutions and social institutions. Thus, batik lovers will increase, especially among young people and continue to be preserved as long as life is still in the womb. "I hope that Indonesian batik will be a source of pride when worn by its users," she hoped. (say/yon)
