Commemorating BUMN Anniversary, KAI Daop 8 Provides Free Local Train Tickets

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – Commemorating the 21st Anniversary of the Ministry of SOEs as well as to increase public love for the railway transportation mode, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daop 8 Surabaya is implementing a ticket promotion program with a fare of Rp 0 or free for PSO Local/Commuter Trains (subsidized). The public can enjoy free travel by train for the trip on Saturday, April 13, 2019.

Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 8 Surabaya, Suprapto, Thursday (11/04/2019) revealed that the trains with Rp0 tickets are Economy Class KRD, with the routes Sidotopo-Porong, Surabaya City-Porong (PP) and Surabaya Pasarturi-Lamongan (PP).

For the Jenggala Train with the Mojokerto-Sidoarjo (PP) route, the Dhoho train, with the Surabaya City-Kertosono-Blitar (PP) route, the Penataran train with the Surabaya City-Malang-Blitar (PP) and Blitar-Surabaya Gubeng (PP) routes

Meanwhile, for the Tumapel train with the Malang-Surabaya City and Surabaya Gubeng-Malang routes. Local Economy, with the Sidoarjo-Surabaya Pasarturi-Bojonegoro (PP), Surabaya Pasarturi-Sidoarjo (PP) and Kertosono-Surabaya City (PP) routes.

Suprapto added that the public can get the tickets for free at the departure station counter via go-show (D-day). "Each prospective passenger can get a maximum of one ticket except for bringing children under ten years old and the elderly. The quota of free tickets is in accordance with the maximum capacity tolerance of each train," he added.

"For passengers who have purchased tickets well in advance at normal fares, they can collect the ticket fee at the passenger arrival station a maximum of 3 (three) days after the arrival of the train," explained Suprapto.

Welcoming the momentum of the 21st Anniversary of BUMN, he said that PT KAI is implementing a Rp0 promo. "This is done as a real step of KAI's contribution in realizing BUMN Hadir untuk Negeri. Hopefully the public can take advantage of this promo as much as possible and be orderly," concluded Suprapto. (say/yon)
