Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – 2.365 TPS supervisors throughout Malang City attended the Grand Supervision Roll Call at the Merdeka Square in Malang City, Friday (12/04/2019). These supervisors will later be spread across 57 sub-districts and 2.365 TPS in Malang City.
The personnel of the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Malang City were mandated to supervise the implementation of the democratic party that will be held on April 17, so that its implementation runs safely and conducively. The spread of fake news or hoaxes and money politics are one of the focuses of Bawaslu, because in Malang City it is still possible to occur.
"One of the things that is of special concern and anticipation for Bawaslu personnel is the indication of the spread of fake news or hoaxes and money politics that could be carried out by certain individuals," explained the Head of Malang City Bawaslu, Alim Mustofa after attending the roll call.
Of the five sub-districts and 57 villages, Alim said the incident was still possible and the potential was even. Therefore, all Bawaslu personnel are urged to work extra hard to narrow the space for perpetrators of spreading fake news and money politics.
Likewise, Alim hopes that the community will participate in preventing and counteracting both negative things. "The role of the community is also very large for this," he said.
Separately, Malang Mayor Drs. H. Sutiaji said that fake news can actually be prevented and the key lies in each individual. "If everyone does not easily spread news that is not necessarily true, then hoaxes can be prevented, and vice versa," he explained.
"We really hope that Bawaslu's role and performance will be maximized, so that the democratic party can run safely, peacefully, and with integrity. Elections are a democratic party that will determine the future of the nation. So people's participation is very important," added Sutiaji.
In addition to equipping them with various special skills, these Bawaslu personnel will also conduct inspections or special operations to places prone to election fraud. The personnel will also be on standby 24 hours to anticipate various things that can happen at any time. (say/yon)
