Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Environmental Service (DLH) of Malang City held an Environmental Village Development activity towards a Shining Village (Clean, Healthy, Beautiful, Green and Tidy) at the Savana Hotel in Malang City, Thursday (11/4). Present on this occasion were the Head of the DLH of Malang City Drs. Agoes Edy Poetranto, MM, the Regional Secretary of Malang City Drs. Wasto, SH, MH, and a resource person from the Environmental Service of East Java Province, Asri Cahaya Hati, ST.
In his speech, Regional Secretary Drs. Wasto, SH, MH revealed that when working, his party always utilizes the capabilities of human resources (HR) in the Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD). From these inputs, strategic steps are taken including in environmental management.
"In the beginning, when we held environmental competitions in RWs in Malang City, many people rushed through the night like school children," he joked, Thursday (11/4).
From the beginning, many people only tidied up when the competition was approaching, finally the community awareness arose on its own. So finally, even without being asked, now the community is willing to organize their own village, because a clean and healthy environment will certainly be very beneficial for those who live there.
According to Wasto, growing the community's response to consciously love the environment is a shared task and the essence of the government's task is community empowerment.
Currently, the Mayor of Malang is increasingly serious about making various approaches to all parties to continue to promote the movement to throw garbage in its place.
"I am sure that if this movement is carried out properly, in the future Malang City will no longer experience losses due to the public's mistake of littering," Wasto emphasized. (cah/yon)
