Jakarta (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government through the Industry Service, Trade Service, and Cooperatives and Micro Enterprises Service of Malang City took part in the 21st Jakarta International Handicraft Trade Fair (INACRAFT 2019) at the Jakarta Convention Center, Wednesday (24/4/2019).

These three Regional Government Organizations (OPD) display typical Malang embroidery, handicraft, cloth, clothing eco print, ceramics and souvenirs made from banana leaves, and bamboo jonggol are one of the strengthening and widespread introduction of the potential of the Malang City craft industry. INACRAFT 2019 was held from 24-28 April 2019 with the theme 'Jakarta Enjoyable Multicultural Diversity, From Small Village to Global Market.'
Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji accompanied by the Chairperson of TP PKK Malang City Widayati, S.Sos., MM, Head of Industry Service Drs. Subkhan, Head of Trade Service Drs. Wahyu Setianto, MM and Head of Micro Business Cooperative Service Dra. Tri Widyani P., M.Si were present at the booth owned by Malang City.
"The potential of our arts and crafts industry can be said to be spread across five sub-districts. Both textile and non-textile crafts. For textiles, there are knitted fabric industries, embroidery, finished textile goods (pillows, bolsters, blankets, etc.) to eco prints. Malang City has 38 business units," said Sutiaji.
While the non-textile industry is up to 237 industries. Through events like this, he said, Malang City products are increasingly known and strong in the global market network.
Owner of D'sil Homemade product Lilis Indriyawati, who participated in the 2019 Inacraft exhibition, said that the Malang City Government is carrying out positive activities for the development of industry in Malang City.
"Initially, D'sil Homemade product marketing was only consigned to several shops and galleries in Malang City, such as Inggil Museum and Resto, Goedang Oleh Oleh, Hotel Pelangi, Singhasari Hotel & Resort, Soak Malang, PKK Corner, Antique Batik, and others," said Lilis Indriyawati.
Over time, he said, his products use a marketing system using social media. In addition, he participated in exhibitions held in Malang City and outside Malang City with related agencies.
Currently, his products have been marketed abroad, including Pakistan, Russia, the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Cambodia, Malaysia, Egypt, Thailand, France, Turkey, the Netherlands, Washington DC, Beijing, Croatia and Australia. (hms/ram)
