Surabaya (malangkota.go.id) – Malang City has once again made an achievement by winning the Best Arranger and Best Presenter titles at the 2019 East Java Dance Festival held at the Cak Durasim Arts Building, East Java Cultural Park, Surabaya, Thursday (2/5/2019) to Friday (3/5/2019).

In addition to Malang City, the best dance arranger category was also won by Ponorogo Regency and Blitar Regency. Meanwhile, the best presenter category was won by Bojonegoro Regency and Blitar Regency.
Featuring the Liswan Gajayana Dance, the Malang City contingent was able to amaze visitors and the jury team of the 2019 East Java Dance Festival.
Led by Paramudita Selvia and R. Arbella as choreographers, the Liswan Gajayana dance presents a cute and cheerful dancer. Set during the time of King Gajayana, an explorer dancer with the pseudonym Liswan who is actually Prince Gajayana makes a spiritual journey through greeting his people with a dance art approach.
The dance skills and communication that are popular, funny and cheerful inspired the Liswana Gajayana dance and brought the best award at the 2019 East Java Dance Festival.
"What has been achieved shows that Malang City has enormous potential in the arts and culture sector. Malang City Government appreciates and encourages culture in Malang City," explained the Head of the Malang City Culture and Tourism Office (Disbudpar) Ida Ayu Wahyuni, SH, M.,Si.
Dayu, as this friendly woman is called, also emphasized that dance can be a potential tourism asset. Liswan Gajayana was performed beautifully by eight young dancers from Malang City, namely Sandhidea Cahyo Narpati, Ahmad Razan Rizqi, Refoma Patria, Dimas Bagus Atmananto, Andhika Khairunnisa, Elfira Rachman Setyawati, Rifka Ferdianti and Athif Yuliati.
