Malang Mayor Sends Off 2019 National Education Day Cultural Parade

Lowokwaru (malangkota.go.id) – Mayor of Malang Drs. H. Sutiaji accompanied by the Head of the Malang City PKK Team Widayaati, S.Sos, M.Si, Head of the Malang City Education Office Dra. Zubaidah, MM, the head of the 2019 Hardiknas Cultural Parade Drs. Burhanuddin, M.Si., sent off the 2019 Hardiknas Cultural Parade which took start-finish at the Malang City Education Office, Jalan Veteran No. 19 Malang City, Saturday (4/5/2019).

2019 National Education Day Cultural Parade

The Hardiknas Cultural Parade was held to commemorate National Education Day (Hardiknas) 2019. This activity was attended by approximately six thousand participants from Early Childhood Education, Kindergarten and Elementary School levels.-Kindergarten, Elementary School, Middle School, High School and Vocational School, both public and private, throughout Malang City.

The Cultural Parade route starts from in front of the Malang City Education Office on Jl. Veteran – Jl. Sumbersari – Jl. Surabaya – Jl. Jakarta – Jl. Bogor – Jl. Veteran. This Cultural Parade signifies five important moments, namely commemorating National Education Day 2019, the 105th Anniversary of Malang City, Kartini Day 2019, Earth Day and welcoming the arrival of the Holy month of Ramadan.

The Mayor of Malang, Drs. H. Sutiaji, in his speech expressed his gratitude to the education personnel of Malang City who always educate, guide, teach and equip children.  children of the next generation of the nation with useful knowledge. "In truth, children are an investment for the future. When we educate, guide and teach good things that in the future will be able to make students into people who are useful for the nation and state," he explained.

Sutijai also invited the participants of the cultural parade to be orderly in carrying out the 2019 National Education Day Cultural Parade by not disrupting traffic flow excessively.

"Show the wider community that we are educated people who obey traffic rules. Let us set a real example for our students who will continue the leadership of this country. May God Almighty always guide, provide assistance, provide strength and shelter in carrying out daily activities, fulfilling today's duties and obligations, tomorrow and in the future," said Sutiaji praying shortly before sending off the procession.

Thousands of participants wore various costumes to enliven the 2019 National Education Day Cultural Parade. Participants were seen wearing masked dancer costumes, traditional clothes from various parts of the archipelago, and even Muslim clothing.

The theme of the parade this time 'Strengthening Education, Advancing Culture' is very pronounced. "Like the appearance of Jula-Juli, it is a combination of the balance of the right brain and the left brain, where the right brain is for thinking about academics and the left brain is for cultural creativity," explained the Head of the Malang City Education Office, Dra.
